206 Tours invites you to join us on a pilgrimage to St. John Paul II's beloved homeland, Poland. On this journey, we follow in the footsteps of three great Polish saints - St. John Paul, St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Faustina, the Apostle of Divine Mercy - as we embrace the culture of the Polish people. We entrust our pilgrims and journeys to the maternal protection of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

As you make your way to Poland, Land of Kings, Saints, and Divine Mercy, walk in the footsteps of Saint John Paul II! From where he was born and baptized, to where he became a Priest - Bishop - Cardinal, and where he spent his time visiting as Pope. Take in the Shrine of Divine Mercy (in Lagiewniki) and be drawn closer to the life of St. Faustina and her Divine Mercy message. One of the most obvious works of mercy, and perhaps the most difficult to put into practice, is to forgive others. This pilgrimage will teach, and allow you, to be able to forgive.

About Saint John Paul II:

Karol Wojtyla (Saint John Paul II) was born in the Polish town of Wadowice on May 18, 1920. His remarkable life and spirit has touch the hearts of millions - 2020 marked his 100th Birthday, and many Catholics marked his Centennial with a Pilgrimage in his honor. He was ordained as a priest on November 1, 1946 and went on to continue his studies in Rome until 1948. He returned to Poland that same year for his first pastoral assignment in the village of Niegowic, which lasted seven months. He then was transferred to the parish of St. Florian in Krakow, where he also spent time hiking in the mountains and canoeing with young people, perhaps sowing the seeds that would bear the fruit of what would become World Youth Day. In 1953 he became the Auxiliary Bishop of Krakow and was elected Pope in 1978. Among many things, Pope John Paul II was the world's first Polish Pope, second longest serving Pope (April 16, 1978 - April 2, 2005), and first Pope to visit the White House! After his death in 2005, he was canonized on April 27, 2014, we celebrate his Feast day on April 22.
